One of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time, Jon Jones who is also considered the greatest MMA fighter by many fans and pundits alike, is all set to appear in front of the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC). The CSAC has set the date for Jones’ hearing as 27th February.

Jon Jones tested was flagged by USADA for testing positive for a banned substance (turinabol) in an in-competition drug test for his fight against bitter rival, Daniel Cormier at UFC 214. This isn’t the first time Jones has tested positive for banned substances. He previously tested positive and was subsequently banned in an out of competition drug test for his fight against Comirer at UFC 200. He had also tested positive for banned substances in his fight against Ovince St-Preux at UFC 197 and served a ban.

Jones has denied the intentional consumption of banned substances and even recently took a polygraph test to prove his innocence.

“Bones” is currently facing a potential four year suspension and will also have to pay a hefty fine, if found guilty in the trial by CSAC. However, Jones’ manager, Malki Kawa is confident that his client will be proven innocent in the trial and will soon return to the octagon in 2018.

It’ll surely be interesting to see what Jones has to say in his defense and whether he will able to convince CSAC of his innocence or not.
