The UFC staff members were impacted by an armed robbery that took place in Rio De Generio late Thursday evening according to the president of Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White. Several employees of UFC lost personal articles including phones, wallets, and passports. No injuries were immediately reported.
According to Dana White, the Rio Police arrived at the scene and are in the process of reviewing the CCTV Footage. The UFC is in Rio de Janeiro for Saturday’s UFC 224 pay-per-view event, at Jeunesse Arena. At this time, no athletes are known to be involved. The UFC 224 official weigh-in is scheduled early Friday morning.
Brett Okamoto reported that the armed robbery took place on a beach near the Hotel.
Just spoke to UFC president Dana White about an incident that is apparently ongoing right now in Brazil. White was just told several employees and others associated with UFC 224 were held up at gunpoint near the host hotel in Rio. No one hurt. Police involved now.

Some UFC employees definitely involved. Have not heard of any fighters involved as of right now (weigh-in is tomorrow morning). Those affected arecanceling stolen passports and credit cards. White told me security footage is being pulled.

My thoughts are with all UFC staff and anyone else affected by the incident in Brazil tonight. Away from their families, there to do a job. The few details I’ve gathered are scary. Armed robbery on the beach, near hotel.

Last month in Brooklyn, Conor McGregor attacked a bus filled with UFC fighters, managers, Media member and employees which resulted in two athletes sustaining injuries and had to be pulled out of the UFC 223 fight card.
Luckily no fighter was injured in this robbery incident in Brazil.
However, UFC Welterweight contender, Colby Covington was quick to make another tweet regarding the Brazilian robbery incident to attract attention.
It's ok America. June 9th I'll get revenge by mugging RDA for 10 lbs of gold and all his lunch money at the United Center in Chicago. #Ufc225 #ufc224 #FilthyAnimals https://t.co/lDzlhcqSiO

We will have to wait and see if Rafael Dos Anjos responds to this Tweet.
