Alistair Overeem will return to the octagon this weekend when he fights Curtis Blaydes at UFC 225. Overeem, who holds an impressive record of 43-16 to his name, is coming into UFC 225 on the back of a defeat to Francis Ngannou.

The knockout loss proved to be a viral one due to the nature in which it happened. In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Overeem revealed that his title aspirations are not hurt by the loss to Ngannou.
“It’s a sport. When you lose, don’t complain. Just go back to the gym and hit it harder. It doesn’t hurt me one little single bit. I love what I’m doing and, what can I say? That’s it,” he said.
He also added that he could just be a couple of wins away from the Heavyweight championship fight considering his position in the UFC rankings.
“I’m ranked No. 2 in the heavyweights (in the UFC’s official rankings). I’m figuring with a couple wins, maybe that title. A couple of wins first,” he added.
