Indian MMA star Priya Sharma flew the Indian flag high last day by winning the gold medal at the Singapore BJJ Open.
Priya, who is currently training out of Superhuman Gym alongside names like Chaitanya Gavali, Bharat Kandare and Sumeet Khade, noted that this was her first international BJJ tournament.

“Won gold at Singapore BJJ open, fought two fights to reach the first place this was my first international tournament, i am really happy and thankful to all those people & my family for supporting me everytime, special thanks to Fight G MMA Academy Singapore and head coach Darren ‘Senz’ De Silva to give this opportunity and Kelvin Yeo and team for helping me and preparing me for the competition and my team back home Superhuman Gym for always pushing me to be better everyday. #TeamGavali”, she wrote.
Priya, who started her MMA journey back in 2012 with the SFL challengers, made a strong comeback a couple of years back after being sidelined for three years due to personal issues. She has been a force to reckon with ever since and even had an impressive campaign at the National BJJ championships held in Kochi a few months back.
