In late May, former UFC title contender Nick Diaz was involved in a domestic violence case in Las Vegas. According to reports, a woman claimed Diaz “grabbed her by the head and slammed her to the ground” during an altercation that happened in a private residence on Friday, May 25th.
Prosecutors with the Clark County (Nevada) District Attorney’s office today filed an amended complaint against Diaz that includes an additional felony count of battery constituting domestic violence by strangulation and felony battery domestic violence resulting in substantial bodily harm. Diaz was originally charged with felony domestic battery by strangulation and misdemeanor domestic battery, which means he now faces a total of three felony charges and one misdemeanor.
Ross Goodman, the attorney representing Diaz, said the following in a statement released to MMAjunkie:
Following his initial arrest, Nick Diaz was released on $18,000 bond. He has been out since then, but is ordered not to make any contact with the alleged victim.
