Now that Conor McGregor’s legal fallout from his infamous UFC 223 backstage incident, we can get back to pondering what’s next for the former lightweight and featherweight champion. UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov wants to face Conor McGregor.
“Glad that he stayed out of jail, because I wouldn’t be able to punish him in that case,” Nurmangomedov said in a statement released to MMAJunkie’s John Morgan. “Now he needs to bring his Irish team to MSG (Madison Square Garden) in November and finish our business.”
Nurmangomedov also posted to his Instagram page a photo of himself with a hashtag that read “#SendMeLocation.”
Nurmagomedov won the UFC’s vacant 155-pound title by defeating Al Iaquinta at the UFC 223 — a title that previously belonged to McGregor, who won it off Eddie Alvarez in November 2016.
