A former UFC and Bellator commentator says there is ‘no chance’ of a DC vs Ryan Bader super fight

Soon after Ryan Bader’s victory over Fedor, the MMA community started buzzing with the idea of a cross-promotional fight between UFC’s Heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier and Bellator’s only double champ Ryan Bader.
But a former UFC and Bellator commentator says there is ‘no chance’ of a DC vs Ryan Bader super fight.

Jimmy Smith, the former UFC and Bellator commentator said that there are more chances of catching a unicorn with a net than having a cross-promotional fight between UFC and Bellator.
Jimmy Smith said,” The brand of UFC is everything, everything to them is the brand, the brand UFC. The fact I say UFC and you what I am talking about and I’ll have to explain myself is huge. You can’t buy that, you have to develop that. And UFC love them or hate them have done a phenomenal job of strengthening their brand. The idea that they would use their brand to help somebody else’s brand is impossible.”
He also said,” When I worked for Bellator, I hated telling people what I did for living, I hated it.”
“UFC has brand awareness. Doing a cross-promotional fight takes away from brand awareness, you are using your brand to build somebody else’s brand.”
