Former UFC middleweight champion and one of MMA’s all-time greatest fighters, Anderson Silva has been on a downward spiral for a long time ever since losing the title in his first fight against Chris Weidman at UFC 162. There has been a lot of speculation regarding Silva’s future in the sport, and now Silva has been openly contemplating about retiring after his most recent defeat at UFC 237.
In a recent social media post, Silva has revealed a more philosophical side to his nature and has again contemplated retirement. Below is a brief excerpt from Silva’s Instagram post:
“In these four days, after yet another unsuccessful mission, I’m questioning whether I should or not keep training, dedicating myself, overcoming injuries, pain, etc. I ask myself always, ‘Is the love that I feel for my sport consuming my mind and my body to the point I can no longer continue?’”
