In a bold move, rising UFC women’s bantamweight Ailin Perez is calling for a five-round main event slot. The Argentine fighter, who has gained an Instagram following of nearly half a million, wants to prove she’s ready for big things in her career. Her preferred opponents? Former PFL champion Kayla Harrison and if not then the ranked contender Norma Dumont Will also work for her.
Ailin Perez Calls Out Kayla Harrison
“What I want is to fight in a five-round main event, with a preference to be against Kayla Harrison,” Perez told MMA Junkie in Spanish. “We want that fight because she’s the best fighter in the division and the person with the biggest name after me.Sorry girls, whether you like it or not, Ailin Perez is making waves on all platforms.”
Perez expressed her desire to face Kayla Harrison, considering her the best fighter in the division after herself. Perez has won three straight fights since her UFC debut, and she believes it’s time for a step up.
Ailin Perez can also face Norma Dumont if the UFC locks the main event bout for her.
“Yeah, because if they give me Norma, I’ll fight her five rounds, no problem,” Perez said regarding a five-round bout being her priority. “That’s the war of the asses, and she’s been running for a while, so if she wants to fight, I’m down.”
The UFC brass now faces an intriguing decision: Will they grant Perez her wish and give her a headlining opportunity against one of these formidable opponents? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: Ailin Perez is making waves across all platforms.
