UFC 223 is so far looking like a star studded affair with many famous fighters competing on the card. The PPV card will have two title fights between Tony Ferguson-Khabib Nurmagomedov and Rose Namajunas and Joanna Jedrzejczyk. The card also features some other high-profile fighters such as Anthony Pettis, Joe Lauzon, etc. Another fight that was recently added to the card is a featherweight bout between Alex Caceres and Artem Lobov.
Caceres and Lobov are both coming off losses. “Bruce Leroy” lost his last fight against Wang Guan at UFC Fight Night 122, whereas “The Russian Hammer” lost his last fight to Andre Fili at UFC Fight Night 118. Both fighters have had a terrible run in the octagon so far and might be on the brink of being cut from the UFC roster.
The news of a potential fight between Lobov and Caceres was first broken out by Oscar Wilis of the Mac Life. It was later confirmed by noted MMA journalist Ariel Helwani of the MMA Fighting as well. However, the UFC have now officially confirmed that this bout will take place on the UFC 223 card.
The fight between these two fighters can be considered to be a fight for survival of their UFC careers. This will just add to the excitement of the fight.
