Tyson Fury and Alex Pereira crossed paths earlier this week- not as fighters, instead the Brazilian received some heart-warming encouragement from the Briton regarding the recent loss to Israel Adesanya.
“Poatan”, the former UFC middleweight champ, recently lost his throne to Adesanya at UFC 287 last month, which has been the first time Pereira lost to Adesanya in their MMA and Kickboxing history.
Following the loss, it was determined that Pereira will be making a jump up to light heavyweight and will be taking on former divisional champion Jan Blachowicz at UFC 291 in July.
In the meantime, Pereira came across Tyson Fury, the WBC middleweight champion boxer, when he received some words of encouragement from “The Gypsy King” while discussing the Adesanya rematch.

The video, titled “Catching up with Tyson Fury” was shared by Pereira on his YouTube channel,
“Are you okay? Good to see ya!” Fury greeted Pereira in the video. “I saw your fight with [Israel] Adesanya the other day.”
“It was going good until it wasn’t,” Pereira responded via a translator beside him.
“It’s called the fight game. What can you do?… I thought you guys were small, you’re f*cking massive! You kickbox? Oh yeah, Glory! You know Rico Verhoeven? I taught him how to box. Big guy, good fighter… Are you ready to rock and roll? It was nice to see you, very nice to see you,” Fury replied. [H/T YouTube]
