After dominating the kickboxing world and winning several tournaments and belts Alex decided to test himself in the MMA world. Before entering the MMA circuit, he fought with Glory kickboxing for the majority of his fighting career.

After four straight successful Glory middleweight title defenses against Yousri Belgaroui, Simon Marcus, and Jason Wilnis, Pereira moved up to fight Donegi Abena for the interim Glory Light Heavyweight Championship at Glory 68. Pereira won the fight via knockout in the third round, becoming the first double champion in Glory history. He then defended his middleweight title one more time before fighting the unification bout with the light-heavyweight champion.

Pereira Then fought Artem Vakhitov for the Glory Light Heavyweight title at Glory 77. He won the fight by split decision, becoming the first fighter in GLORY history to simultaneously hold two belts at the same time.

His first MMA bout was against Quemuel Ottoni at Jungle Fight in 2015. The debut in the MMA world didn’t go as planned as he lost the fight via third-round submission. He then went on to score two back-to-back wins before signing up with LFA. In his promotion debut, he fought Thomas Powell and defeated him in the very first round of the fight.

It would be pretty exciting to see how well he can do with the UFC if the rumors are actually true.
