Former two-time UFC title challenger Alexander Gustafsson is all set to fight Anthony Smith at the Ericsson Globe in Stockholm, Sweden this weekend.
Gustafsson recently said that if he gets past Smith this weekend then he plans to stay busy throughout 2019. Ever since 2015, he has only fought once a year.
Gustafsson recently fought UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones at the Forum in Los Angeles last year and was completely dominated throughout the fight. Most people expected it to be like the classic first fight when they both squared off against each other back in 2013.
“Just to get the win, take another fight quick,” Gustafsson told host Luke Thomas on The MMA Hour on Monday. “I’m tired of waiting and planning and looking for what’s next. I’m just taking one fight at a time now.
“I’m just going to go through Anthony Smith, I want to get that W, beat him, and just look for the next challenge basically. And I want it fast, I want the next fight really fast. Just like, stack them up and go through them one by one, and see what the future brings.”
Meanwhile, Anthony Smith is also coming off of a loss against Jon Jones at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas last March.
