Alexander Gustafsson is ready to lay out the red carpet for Luke Rockhold if he actually does go ahead with his plan on moving upto the LW (Light Heavweight) divison in the UFC.
In a pretty direct and clear instagram post Alex The Mauler stated that he actually wanted the Daniel Cormier fight but was willing to fight DC’ s team mate Luke Rockhold to ‘keep himself warm in the meanwhile’. Alex has previously expressed his discontent that Daniel Cormier choose to move up to heavy weight to face Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 rather then give him another shot at the title.

After his loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 221 in Perth, Australia, Luke expressed wanting to move upto the Light Heavyweight division, a move which would be welcome by a lot of Rockhold fans as it would mean a much healthier and hydrated Luke going into his fights.
Alexander in the meanwhile is fresh (well almost fresh) off of a victory over Glover Texeira whom he KO’d in the 5th round of their headline fight in Stockholm Sweden. He has previously fought some fan pleasing battles against both Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier for the LW belt, but ended up on the loosing side both times. But he gave Jon Jones the toughest fight he had ever faced and a lot of people (including us) felt it should’ve been Alexander who got his hand raised that day.
Getting back to the subject at hand…Alexander vs Luke is a fight we’ll line up to see any time of the year.
