There’s a new rivalry brewing between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo, and its only getting more and more grudgy.

This little savage is no longer a savage: Aljamain Sterling on Cejudo

The UFC Bantamweight champion was the one who welcomed Cejudo on his comeback from retirement as they squared off in the main event of UFC 288. “Funk Master” retained his title via split decision, against the former double champ who returned to the Octagon after three years.

In the wake of the fight, Sterling was booked to defend his belt against Sean O’Malley in August at UFC 292, but the 135-pound champ was skeptical about the matchup and claimed that he needed some more breathing room.

This led to Cejudo offering to fight O’Malley instead, while slamming the champion for not showing eagerness for the title fight. As a response, Sterling did accept the fight against “Sugar”, while Cejudo was booked against Marlon Vera on the same fight card.

However, “Triple C” decided to pull out of the fight against Vera after sustaining a shoulder injury. Upon this news breaking out, Sterling took to his YouTube channel to lash out at Cejudo, for the earlier mockery the Olympian had made towards him.

“Henry Cejudo’s out of his fight, ‘The Savage’ you guys remember that? ‘The Savage’, texting Dana [White] saying ‘If that little p*ssy doesn’t want to fight, I’ll take the fight’, isn’t it funny how the roles are reversed now? This little savage is no longer a savage, interesting. For me, I call that being a dirty little weasel,” said Sterling in the video.

“Trying to disparage my name in front of the fans and make it seem like I don’t want to fight. ‘Oh that wasn’t that bad of a fight so you should be able to turn around’, guys, I’m telling you from experience. From championship experience, defending multiple times… It’s very different getting ready for 25 minutes versus 15 minutes,” he added. [H/T BJPenn.com]
