Indian Pro Boxer Neeraj Goyat who was all set to take on British-Pakistani Boxer and former two-time world champion Amir Khan from the UK at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah on July 12 has pulled out of the fight following a car accident.
Goyat was severely injured in a car accident and has since been hospitalised. The accident took place after the 26-year old from Haryana was returning home from his training session.
Now Amir Khan will take on a Billy Dib who challenged for the IBF world title last year when he took on Tevin Farmer. He lost the fight via unanimous decision. It’s an interesting choice of an opponent as Billy Dib is at least three weight divisions below the former two-time champion Amir Khan who had his last fight at welterweight limit. In fact, Dib retired last year when he lost to Farmer.
The Boxing fans, however, weren’t happy with Amir’s choice of opponent.
Amir Khan is now fighting Billy Dib
Billy Dib retired last year as a Super Featherweight.
The Khan fight is at Welter.
I’ll say it again.

Amir Khan who is coming off of a TKO loss to American boxing star Terence Crawford wished Neeraj Goyat a speedy recovery.

“First of all my heart goes out to Neeraj and I pray for him to make a full recovery and [be] fit and healthy again to resume his boxing career,” Khan said, according to ESPN.
“We’ve had to make the decision to find a replacement and we’ve done extremely well in securing Dib to now be in the opposite corner.
“I would have been absolutely distraught if my dream of fighting in Saudi (Arabia) had to be put on hold. Dib is a respected and experienced (former) world champion so I’m looking forward to pitting my skill against him.”
