Anderson Silva is winding up his career, and he is ready to acknowledge that his legendary fight career is finally nearing an end. Talking about his contract, he revealed that he had 3 – 4 contracted fights left for the UFC and that he intends to compete in them all.

The 44-year-old former UFC Middleweight Champion lost his returning fight against up-and-coming star Israel Adesanya. He admitted that he was not ruling out another shot at the title, but he was not expecting one either. He said he was perfectly content to bring his career to an end without ever fighting for the title again.

“I never put something in my mind like, ‘Oh I need to fight again for the belt. No. That’s a part in my life I passed. But I continue to fight. But I don’t know – maybe I have a new opportunity to fight for the belt. I don’t know.” – h/t MMA Junkie

Anderson Silva had a seven-year-long reign with the UFC Middleweight Title, and it appears that was more than enough for the fighter.

“In my opinion and my position now I’m trying to do something very special for my fans. When I fight Israel (Adesanya) everybody talk about, ‘Why you fight him? Why you take the fight?’ Because it’s a good challenge for myself, for my mind.” – h/t MMA Junkie

He plans to put his entire heart into fighting, and then if he gets a title shot or not is secondary. His first most important preference in choosing fights which are challenges for him. He revealed this was also the reason he faced Israel Adesanya.
