Jake Paul vs. Nate Diaz has become one of the most anticipated fights of the year, and Anderson Silva wants to join in the action- by facing the winner.
The former UFC Middleweight champion and one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, Silva locked horns with Paul back in October last year, which ended with a decision victory for “The Problem Child”, to the surprise of many.
Now, after suffering his first professional defeat against Tommy Fury back in February in Saudi Arabia, Paul is set to return to the squared circle against Nate Diaz on 5th August in Dallas, Texas.
…very hard to say who wins. Both are good fighters: Anderson Silva
The fight was announced last week and will see Diaz making his debut in the boxing ring against Paul, who will be entering the bout as a heavy favorite.
Silva, however, believes the fight will not be so one-sided as one might expect. On one hand, the Brazilian shed praise on his former opponent for his work ethic, while also acknowledging the experience Diaz has had in the fight game.
“I’m so excited. That’s a good show for us, a very good show for us. I don’t know (who’s going to win). It’s very tough. Everybody thinks Jake is not training boxing, but Jake is training a lot,” Silva said in a recent interview with Fight Hub TV.
“The people need to respect everything Jake is doing, because he’s very professional, and he’s very focused on his job I respect him a lot, you know. That’s very hard to say who wins. Both are good fighters,” he went on. “Nate has more experience; he has good boxing and good cardio. I respect both. I’m waiting for the best show for us.”
At the end, “The Spider” insisted that he might step in the ring with the winner.
“Maybe who wins the fight, I fight, too,” Silva added. “Maybe. I don’t know. Let’s go see.” [H/T MMA Junkie]
