Speaking in an interview, UFC President Dana White had hinted at a potential scrap between Silva and Hall. White also believes this might be his last fast, however, nothing has been set in stone about that. (via MMAJunkie):
“We’re working on a fight for him coming up soon here,” White said at the DWCS 29 post-fight news conference Tuesday. “He will fight again. I met with his managers the other day. This will be his last fight. This will be his last fight. I think he’s going to retire. That’s not our business. That’s up to him. That’s up to him. Let him do this the way he wants to do it.”
“We’re talking about putting him in a very competitive fight that should be fun. … Uriah Hall,” White said.
Anderson Silva, the legend!
Silva (34-10 MMA, 17-6 UFC), will make his return a 15-month hiatus. He previously fought against Jared Cannonier at UFC 237 in May last year. He suffered a gruesome knee injury courtesy of a Cannonier leg kick which had him on sidelines since. He then underwent a stem cell procedure on the knee for the same.
Silva made his UFC debut against then perennial contender Chris Leben back in 2006. Stepping in as a heavy underdog, he brutally knocked out Leben in the first round. The performance earned him a title shot against then champ, the legendary Rich Franklin. Silva shocked the world by dominating Franklin to become the middleweight champion of the world. This further led to a reign of domination for around 7 years which included a massive 10 title defenses.
Silva, by many, is considered to be the greatest mixed martial artist of all time.
