UFC legend Anderson Silva confirmed that his upcoming middleweight fight against Uriah Hall will be the last fight of his illustrious career.

‘The Spider’ is the oldest fighter on the UFC roster at 45 years of age. UFC President Dana White recently speculated that the Hall fight would be his last but there was no confirmation on the same.

However, speaking in an interview, Silva revealed that this would be his last walk towards the octagon. (via BJPENN.com):

“This is the last fight. For sure, this is the last fight. Probably. I love the sport. I’ve prepared my mind for this. I’ve prepared to fight my entire life, but yes, this is my last fight in UFC”, he said.

When asked about what he would miss the most about fighting, the legend obviously said it’s the training. He claimed training both physically and mentally for the fight is something he would miss.

“I think (I’ll miss) the training (the most). Preparing my mind, preparing my body. This I think is most important and I feel sad because I don’t have this anymore. This is the last one,” he said.

Anderson Silva, the legend!

Silva (34-10 MMA, 17-6 UFC), will make his return a 15-month hiatus. He previously fought against Jared Cannonier at UFC 237 in May last year. He suffered a gruesome knee injury courtesy of a Cannonier leg kick which had him on the sidelines since. He then underwent a stem cell procedure on the knee for the same.

Silva made his UFC debut against then perennial contender Chris Leben back in 2006. Stepping in as a heavy underdog, he brutally knocked out Leben in the first round. The performance earned him a title shot against then champ, the legendary Rich Franklin. Silva shocked the world by dominating Franklin to become the middleweight champion of the world. This further led to a reign of domination for around 7 years which included a massive 10 title defenses.

Silva, by many, is considered to be the greatest mixed martial artist of all time.
