In the world of India mixed martial arts (MMA), many fighters have risen to prominence, but nobody matches Anshul Jubli and Angad Bisht in popularity. Now, Angad Bisht is on his way to Road to UFC.
Anshul on Angad Bisht in Road to UFC
In a Recent Interview, Anshul Jubli talked about his expectations from Angad Bisht. Bisht is set to make his debut in the Road To UFC against John Dave Almanza on 18 May, 2024 in China.
He said, “I have lots of expectations from Angad Bisht, I hope everybody performs well but Angad Bisht is the type of athlete who can definitely win this tournament, I think everybody should back him as I hope he will perform really well in his next fight and hopefully win this entire tournament”
Angad Bisht: From Gym Trainer to UFC Prospect
Bisht, hailing from Rudraprayag in Uttarakhand, took a less conventional route to MMA stardom. As a gym trainer, he found himself drawn to the world of combat sports. His dedication and hard work paid off, and he emerged as one of India’s most promising MMA prospects.
The Road Less Traveled
Bisht’s journey reflects the spirit of those who hail from smaller towns. He understands the value of seizing opportunities when they arise. Speaking about his own efforts, Angad says, “Because we don’t have much scope and MMA is giving us one, I try to give 110%, and this is the exact thing with Anshul (Jubli). As we come from small places and we start getting big platforms, we also double our efforts.”
The MFN Flyweight Champion
Bisht’s professional MMA record stands at 9 wins and 3 losses. As the current MFN Flyweight Champion, he continues to make waves in the Indian MMA scene. His journey—from gym trainer to championship contender—inspires fighters across the country.
An interesting link connects Anshul Jubli and Angad Bisht—the Soma Fight Club in Bali, Indonesia. Both fighters consider this facility their second home. Anshul Jubli prepared for his UFC battles there, while Bisht continues to hone his skills alongside other international talents. Their shared dedication to the sport exemplifies the resilience and hunger that define Indian MMA.
