“The illegal use of the credit card was used to purchase a round-trip airline ticket from Ft. Lauderdale, FL (FLL) to Newark, NJ (EWR). The name of the passenger was Anthony Johnson. A subsequent Investigation determined Johnson used the illegally obtained credit card to purchase the airline ticket. An arrest warrant was obtained for Johnson for the above charges.”

Anthony Johnson defeated Augusto in the quarterfinals of the Bellator World Light Heavyweight Grand Prix and now is set to fight light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov in the Semifinals of Bellator Grand Prix.

Johnson on his debut was scheduled to face fellow UFC fighter Yoel Romero, but he had to pull out due to some medical issues. Jose Augusto then stepped up to fight Johnson at Bellator 258. Jose came out swinging and also broke his left hand right at the beginning of the first round. He then rocked Johnson by brutal punch but Johnson somehow managed to survive the early storm and made it to the second round.

The pace slowed in the second round. Both fighters seemed to be recovering from the damage absorbed in the first round. But 90 seconds in, Johnson threw a right that landed right on the chin. Augusto fell backward to the canvas. Johnson landed one big hammerfist on his face and the referee jumped in to stop the fight. It was an incredible win for Anthony Johnson.

The latest arrest and legal charges will be a hurdle in his path while moving forward in his fighting career. If he manages to get his life together outside the cage then Johnson has a lot to offer in his Bellator Career ahead and will get to fight the Champion soon in his next fight.
