The biggest fight in MMA history between the UFC lightweight champion Khabib “The Eagle” Nurmagomedov and former champ champ “The Notorious” Conor McGregor is almost upon us. This Sunday we will find out whether Khabib is a legit champion or is Conor still the best lightweight around. Meanwhile, fans, pundits and various fighters alike have been giving their predictions for this massive main event. The newest to give his opinion on who is going to win is former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis. ‘Showtime’ strongly feels that while the Russian is currently the best lightweight on the planet, McGregor will still be victorious on Sunday.

Anthony Pettis sides with Conor, feels he will KO Khabib

Pettis, who is himself scheduled to fight former UFC interim lightweight champion Tony “El Cucuy” Ferguson in the co-main event of UFC 229, recently addressed the media. In the press conference, he was asked to give his predictions for the UFC 229 headliner and this is what he had to say:

Yeah, I mean I think my performance will send a message. I think that fight is a great fight man. Khabib is undefeated. I almost had the chance to fight him in Brooklyn. It was almost there and it got me excited.

Khabib is the best lightweight in the world. But I think Conor wins (at UFC 229 against Nurmagomedov), knockout! I don’t know what round because Khabib gets hit and Conor has the billing to put him away. We all saw his striking in his last fight against Al and if he comes like that against Conor then it’s the wrong strategy. I’m sure he is motivated, I’m sure Conor is motivated too. But I am picking Conor.
