Former multiple division boxing world champion Paulie Malignaggi signed a big money deal to compete in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, a.k.a. the BKFC. His first fight is vastly believed to be happening against a close friend and the training partner of Malignaggi’s bitter rival Conor McGregor, Artem Lobov. Lobov is himself a former UFC featherweight who was recently let go by the company. BKFC recently organised a face off between Paulie and Lobov to promote a fight in the future. However, things soon got heated and turned into a scuffle as Paulie slapped Artem. Now former UFC light heavyweight superstar and the head of fighter relations for BKFC, Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson has suggested that the entire Paulie-Artem scuffle was good for business.

Johnson MMA Junkie that whatever happened was good promotion and that all that mayhem created plenty of buzz which is good for business. Here’s what he had to say:

I think it’s good, it is good for promotion for sure. For me, I come from, like you save everything for the fight. You know what I’m saying. I’m not really with all the press conference violence, whatever you wanna call it, mayhem. But it is good. It gives people something to talk about and this is, this is a new sport. So it definitely will be a good buzz, specially from Paulie and Artem.
