Conor McGregor has come a long way in his career. Gone are the days when his sole income was based on his fights in the UFC. Now, as he recently put it, MMA is his 3rd level of income. Tuesday was the 3-year anniversary of his fight at UFC 196, where he had been forced to tap out to Nate Diaz with a Rear Naked Choke.
McGregor was reflecting on the fight on Twitter recently, where he talked about what the fight meant now looking back at it now.
“What a sequence! One of the craziest fights ever. Also the birth of McGregor FAST! The rematch was voted the greatest fight in UFC history. My last one was a small bit wild also haha I love this game. This is my 3rd level of income at this point. I just do it because I love it.”

He then went on to talk about how he recovered from the loss with a Decision win over Diazo only five months later.
“It’s fascinating to me watching that loss back. Then watching the come back. We can always come back! Anyone can do something once. It’s Can you do it twice is the question. That’s why I doubled up on the belts every time. Any fool can do it once.”

Conor McGregor is currently waiting to return from suspension. Once he does, he might have to get ready for a rematch against UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
