If there’s a fight for Conor McGregor that could interest the public apart from the Khabib Nurmagomedov rematch than it’s none other than the trilogy fight with Nate Diaz.
Although recently there have been talks about McGregor fighting Donald Cerrone and cowboy has verbally called out the Irish star numerous times. But according to Ariel Helwani of ESPN, Cerrone and Al Laquinta have verbally agreed to fight each other, which means it has opened the door for McGregor vs Diaz 3.
The booking of Cerrone vs. Iaquinta could very well clear the path for McGregor vs. Diaz 3 happening later this year. Developing.

As UFC lightweight champion Khabib has earlier made it clear that he will sit out the 2019 and only return after October when his teammate’s suspension is over. Meanwhile, Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier are fighting for UFC interim lightweight title and Tony Ferguson is dealing with personal issues.
Diaz and McGregor fought for the first time at UFC 196 back in 2016. Diaz won the fight via rear naked choke in the second round. The pair then fought in a rematch almost immediately at UFC 202. In this fight, both fighters went toe-to-toe and delivered an epic fight which McGregor won via majority decision.
Since then there have been numerous talks about the trilogy, but the fight has never come into fruition.
