ESPN’s Ariel Helwani of Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show recently revealed that the UFC was planning another fight for the huge card that UFC 239 is turning out to be. The late fight to be targeted for the pay-per-view is none other than the one between Michael Chiesa and Diego Sanchez.
Helwani went on to say in his tweet that the fight was not completely confirmed at the moment, but that was the direction that UFC was planning for that fight.
UFC 239 already looks like a massive card.
UFC wants to book Michael Chiesa vs. Diego Sanchez for UFC 239 on July 6 in Las Vegas, according to sources. The fight isn’t 100% set or signed yet but that’s the direction they want to go in.

The aimed headliner for the event is between Jon Jones and Thiago Santos for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title, while the co-headliner is expected to be filled by Amanda Nunes and Holly Holm for the Women’s Bantamweight Title. The other fights being targeted for the event are Junior Dos Santos vs Francis Ngannou, Jorge Masvidal vs Ben Askren, and Jan Blachowicz vs Luke Rockhold. If the Sanchez fight is confirmed, JacksonWink will see Holm, Sanchez and Jon Jones all fighting.
If this fight comes to fruition, July 6 would be a huge night for JacksonWink with Bones, Holm and Sanchez all in big fights.

Michael Chiesa will be coming into this fight after having bounced back from his losses to Kevin Lee and Anthony Pettis by submitting Carlos Condit. His prospective opponent is coming off two wins himself, and he will be looking to add to that.
The fight between Diego Sanchez and Michael Chiesa might be confirmed in the coming weeks.
