Former UFC featherweight Artem Lobov and current UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov have been beefing for quite some time now.
It all started when Khabib called McGregor a chicken last year and Lobov responded by calling him the same. Then it escalated when Khabib and his teammates confronted Lobov backstage at UFC 223 which was all set to take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. This led to McGregor and his people flying overnight from Ireland in a private jet to New York City where the Irishmen attacked the bus Nurmagomedov and his teammates were boarding with his dolly.
More than 18 months have passed since then and the beef between Lobov and Nurmagomedov is far from over and said that he is even benefitting from the beef as he has gained a lot of fans over time.
“Definitely, things are not fine,” Artem Lobov said on Chael Sonnen’s YouTube channel. “There’s some unsettled business there, and I think in due course it will all be settled. But as of now, it’s definitely not. Not even close.”
“It’s Khabib’s fans obviously. I have a lot of Russian fans, myself, that support me – and obviously he has a lot of guys that support him,” he said. “So obviously his guys that support him, they always have a lot to say about me, but I don’t mind. It keeps my name in the headlines, it keeps my name in the Internet searches. And, as a result, it keeps my salary nice and high.” (H/T – BJPenn.com)
