Rodtang Jitmuangnon, the former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion, has more on the line at ONE 172 than ever before. However, he plans to step up to the challenge like never before.

On Sunday, March 23, the main event will take place inside Japan’s Saitama Super Arena and feature a flyweight kickboxing superfight between “The Iron Man” and three-division K-1 Champion Takeru Segawa.

Two of the world’s top flyweight fighters square off in the fantasy fight, which has been in the works for more than four years.

Rodtang is aware of the importance of the fight, even as supporters anxiously await the dramatic confrontation. For this reason, the 27-year-old tries to give a suitable performance when the bell rings.

“I’ll be able to win for sure. I think this fight is going to be the best fight I have ever done. And I think it’s the most meaningful fight for me, of my career, of my life. It’s truly the biggest fight for me. I’m really facing a Japanese superstar. The best one,” he said.

“It’s going to be one hell of a fight that no one should ever miss. I’d like to end this fight with a knockout.”

Rodtang considers Japan to be his “second home.”

The rich history of Japan is particularly dear to many combatants around the world. Rodtang Jitmuangnon, a former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion, agrees.

“The Iron Man” will not be competing in Japan for the first time in ONE 172. However, it simply raises the stakes anytime he has the chance to perform there.

He will also feel completely at home in the Saitama Super Arena, even though he is competing on enemy territory.

“I think I became famous because of Japan. I’ve been waiting for a chance to fight in Japan again. When I get this chance, I don’t care which stadium I’m fighting in. Just going to Japan, I feel like I’m back in my second home.”
