Belal Muhammad continues to fan the flames against Leon Edwards, and in his latest jibe at the UFC Welterweight Champion, Belal says he will walk through Edwards in just two rounds.
Ever since his win over Gilbert Burns in May, Belal has been calling for a shot at the 170-pound belt and even claiming that the promotion had promised him a title shot. However, with Edwards defeating Colby Covington at UFC 296, “Remember The Name” has upped the taunts at Edwards.
Belal Muhammad claims his resume is better than Kamaru Usman’s
During a recent appearance at The Coach and the Casual podcast, the 2nd ranked welterweight made a comparison of his resume with that of the former 170-pound champ, Kamaru Usman and declaring that he had the better one.
“People keep talking about Usman as one of the GOATs, and I’m like bro, he beat Masvidal twice, he beat Colby twice, who didn’t deserve it, Masvidal didn’t deserve it, and then he beat Gilbert Burns,” Belal said. “When you’re looking at resumes, my resume is: Wonderboy (Stephen Thompson), Damian Maia, you got Gilbert Burns, you got Vicente Luque, you got an undefeated Sean Brady.”
“And it takes that type of thing you know. After I beat him (Brady) people were like ‘oh Sean’s not that good’. Then he goes out there, dominates Kevin Gastelum, they’re like ‘on well Sean Brady was just sick that day or something’, You guys want to keep giving excuses, but I’m the best welterweight in the world. I’m dominating every single one of these guys, and they all have different styles,” he added.
And when a user on X named @PrestigePrince9 shared the interview saying that Belal must “back up” the things he is saying when he faces Edwards, Belal had a short but direct response.
“I walk thru him in 2” he wrote.

In another tweet, when @TruthfulUfcFan wrote: “I think you 50-45 him and make him suffer for 25 minutes But I can see a TKO as well,” Belal responded by insisting that he will dominate “Rocky” in their rematch.
“Suffer he will.” said Belal.

Looking back at their first encounter, which took place in March 2021 as the UFC Vegas 21 main event, the fight ended in a No Contest after an accidental eye poke from Edwards rendered Belal unable to continue.
