Bellator 180 is looking like it’s going to be huge and a big treat for the Big Apple MMA fans again and will be only their second PPV card , the first being in May 2014.

The fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Matt Mitrione which had got cancelled is now back on track again at Bellator 180 on June 24th at the Madison Square Garden in New York City.

This is a fight the fans have been waiting to see and barely had their excitement died down when the news of a Chael Sonnen vs Wanderlei Silva fight on the same card came out. Chael recently lost to Tito Ortiz in Tito’s farewell fight (at least for now) and now Bellator has booked him in what seems to be a huge grudge match against Wanderlei. The two fought on the sets of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil in 2014 and attempts to match both of them up fizzled out due to Nevada Athletic Commission problems for both, with Silva famously running away from drug test officials and Sonnen twice failing tests.

All that remains for this card to get any bigger is confirmation of newly signed Ryan Bader and Mr Wonderful and current champ Phil Davis, who had lost to Bader in their previous fight when both were at the UFC. Both have shown interest in the fight.

Now that would truly be the icing on the cake.
