The much awaited semi final round of Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix could happen on consecutive nights in October, according to Bellator president Scott Coker. After the first round of the Grand Prix was completed during the first half of the year, Scott Coker wants the semi-final round to take place in close proximity rather than stretching it out like the first round took place.
The semi final round includes ‘The Last Emperor’ Fedor Emelianenko who beat Frank Mir by knockout facing Chael Sonnen who defeated Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson by decision. The second semi-final takes place with Bellator Light Heavyweight Champion Ryan Bader facing Matt Mitrione with Bader defeating Muhammad ‘King Mo’ Lawal by knockout in 15 seconds and Mitrione defeating Roy Nelson by decision in their respective first round bouts.
Ryan Bader looks to become the first Bellator two weight World Champion if he wins the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix this year.
