Tyrell Fortune is a standout fighter and has an undefeated record. However, that has not given him the sort of recognition or treatment that one would have expected. Fortune spoke out about how he is tired of fighting ‘nobodies’ in fights and how he had to be ready for anything and everything before a fight.

He said that it was difficult for sitting for 7-months between fights at the age of 28, in the prime of his career. Twice now, Fortune has had to face last-minute opponents. Prior to his fight this weekend at Bellator 216, Tyrell Fortune learnt who his opponent would be only 2 weeks before. What’s more, the time before that, his opponent was changed only on the Monday of fight week.

With treatment like this, any fighter would be frustrated.

I’ve learned now you’ve got to be prepared for anything. At all times, be ready to fight.” – H/T MMA Junkie

However, what Fortune is frustrated with is the fact that he can’t get the sort of fights that he so desperately wants.

“I think if I continue to fight these nobodies, I’m not really advancing. I’m not really going anywhere. That doesn’t really do much for me. So I just hope to fight somebody with a name and keep moving from there.”

Fortune will face Ryan Pokryfky at Bellator 216 next.
