Dillon Danis made a successful MMA debut last day at Bellator 198. Danis defeated Kyle Walker via a first round submission and looked exceptional inside the cage.

The training partner of former UFC champion Conor McGregor, Danis was all over the headlines prior to his MMA debut. Now that he backed up his words with an impressive performance, Danis is ready to take things to the next step.
While talking to Jenn Brown backstage, Danis went on to call out former ONE Championship champion Ben Askren. Although Askren has been teasing the possibility of coming out of retirement, he shot down the idea of Danis immediately with the following tweet.
“He realizes this isn’t reality so he feels safe doing so. Maybe he should fight someone with a winning record first” Askren noted while reaction to the call out from Danis.
I made the show
Apart from the callout of Askren, Danis spoke about a string of things during his post-fight interview and pointed out that he was responsible for all the hype surrounding Bellator 198.
“I’m the one that created all this. I did all the media. I built up this whole card. So all the bums on the rest of the card are going to call me out now.” he said.
Danis also went on to note that he his game is too good.
“I said this before I came in – no one has ever experienced submissions like this in MMA. I’m too good. This is another level. At the end of the day, I’m a samurai. I came here to die. That motherf-cker had to kill me. I gave you guys a free seminar on how to defeat MMA with jiu-jitsu.” He said.
With the win, Danis is 1-0 in MMA right now and it would be interesting to see where he goes from here.
