In a Facebook video posted by Wanderlei Silva, he claims that he has been reached out by Bellator officials in a yet- to-be-announced card in California on 29th September for a fight with Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson. If Silva is believed to be true, this will be an extension to one of the most heated and brutal rivalries in combat sports which has already seen a trilogy.
“Like people say, it’s very hard for a good professional to retire,” Silva said. “I just got a call from Bellator inviting to be part of the Sept. 29 (card) against Quinton Jackson in the main event in California. It’s our fourth bout, I won two of the first three, so it’s 2-1 for me.”
‘The Axe Murder’ and ‘Rampage’ had their first two square-offs in Pride FC in 2003 and 2004 respectively, with Silva emerging victorious in both the fights by a knockout. The third fight took place in UFC in 2008, with Jackson getting his much needed revenge by defeating Silva by a knockout.
