Ben Askren vows to humiliate Jake Paul inside the ring

Former Bellator, ONE welterweight champion and UFC veteran Ben Askren is set to fight Jake Paul on April 17 in a pay-per-view main event headliner.

This will be Ben Askren’s debut in the professional boxing world as he takes on Jake Paul who is 2-0. Jake Paul is coming off of a spectacular knockout victory over former NBA star Nate Robinson in a boxing match. Prior to that, he knocked out British YouTuber AnEsonGib during Superbowl week in Miami last year.

On the other hand, Ben Askren retired from the sport, after suffering a submission loss to Demian Maia at UFC Singapore in October of 2019. Prior to that, he suffered a brutal KO loss to Jorge Masvidal. His run in the UFC wasn’t like the one he had in ONE Championship and Bellator MMA.

Since retiring from the sport, Askren had a hip replacement surgery and has been recovering, but he couldn’t miss the opportunity to headline an event against Jake Paul, which would also undoubtedly mean a big payday.

Ben Askren will humiliate Jake Paul

Speaking on social media, Ben Askren told his followers that he will humiliate Jake Paul in the fight.

I just sparred eight rounds, and I’ve got strength and conditioning later today,” Ben Askren said. “It felt great. The boxing stuff is starting to come together.

I can’t promise you it’s going to be the prettiest thing you ever saw—although my face is pretty, my combat sports usually are not, they are unique, they are different—but here’s what I can tell you,” Ben Askren added. “You will witness the humiliation of Jake Paul. You will witness one man breaking another man’s will. And that man, Jake Paul, will give up and be humiliated in front of millions of people, live on Triller, April 17.” (H/T – BJPenn.com)

While Ben is panning to humiliate Jake Paul, the youtube star in an interview with ESPN said that he was going to put Askren to sleep.

Ben Askren is a two-time NCAA champion, a world champion in two different global mixed martial arts organizations and has less losses on his record than Conor McGregor,” Paul told ESPN after the fight became official.

Me, on the other hand, I started boxing two years ago and I’m still going to knock his ass out faster than Masvidal. These MMA guys think because they throw punches they know how to box. The world complained because I knocked out a basketball player and not a real fighter. So now I’m giving the people what they want by taking on a ‘real fighter.’ After Ben Askren is added to my knockout meme collection, what can anybody say? Thank you to Triller Fight Club for giving me the platform to once again put a man to sleep. April 17, it’s lights out for Askren.

How do you guys think the fight will go? Let us know in the comment section below.
