Former UFC welterweight fighter Ben Askren has called out UFC superstar Nate Diaz. Ben Askren has stated that he wants to be the last fight that Nate fights in the UFC as his contract is about to expire. The fight callout seemed baseless until Nate also got involved and the duo exchanged words on Twitter. Nate and Ben both took shots at each other and they were both linked because of their rivalry with the newest boxing sensation Jake Paul. Ben Askren offered Nate that he would like to be the last fight on his UFC contract and teased a return to the UFC.
The beef between Nate and Ben started when Nate replied to one of the tweets regarding Ben Askren and Jake Paul in which Ben said that Jake is a good boxer. Nate, while replying to this tweet took a shot at Ben and mocked his boxing and wrestling. Ben wasn’t going to hesitate while conflicting with Nate and he took some shots at Nate’s MMA Career and thus the fighters got into a Twitter war.
Coming from a retired wrestler who can’t fight or box

“Coming from a retired wrestler who can’t fight or box,” Diaz wrote in response to Askren’s comments about Paul being kind of a good boxer.
Nate is right, I suck at boxing. He sucks at MMA. If he wants me to prove it I can be in the USADA pool tomorrow. Would be happy to be the last fight on his contract.

“Nate is right, I suck at boxing. He sucks at MMA,” Askren snapped back. “If he wants me to prove it I can be in the USADA pool tomorrow. Would be happy to be the last fight on his contract.”
Does Nate Diaz and Ben Askren make sense?
Nate Diaz and Ben Askren have both fought in the same weight class but never crossed paths. As when Ben entered the UFC, Nate was already fighting fights after huge lay-offs. Askren made his UFC debut against the former UFC Welterweight Champion Robbie Lawler on March 2, 2019, at UFC 235. He won the fight via first-round submission but in a controversial way. After losing back-to-back fights against Jorge Masvidal and Demian Maia, Ben decided to announce his retirement in November 2019. He came out of retirement to box Jake Paul and got brutally knocked out inside round one.
Nate Diaz on the other hand hasn’t fought regularly in recent years. He has just fought 4 fights in the last five years and just won one fight. Nate Diaz in his last fight faced top welterweight contender Leon Edwards. He lost the fight via decision but for a brief moment in his late fifth round, he was very close to finishing Edwards with punches but somehow Leon was able to survive the round.
