In a recent appearance on the Pound 4 Pound podcast, rising middleweight prospect Bo Nickal shared his thoughts on a potential clash with undefeated fighter Shara Bullet (Sharaputdin Magomedov). Nickal, who last entered the octagon at UFC 309, defeating Paul Craig via unanimous decision, believes that while the matchup would be an easy fight for him, it is unlikely to be booked by the UFC.

Nickal, a former NCAA wrestling champion, stated, “They wouldn’t match it up. It would be an easy fight, but for me, there’s no problem in that fight, but let’s talk about it realistically.” He emphasized that the UFC puts on 50 shows a year, and fans might become desensitized to the incredible skill level of fighters. “You see something every weekend and all of a sudden it just becomes normal when a lot of these guys are putting 10, 20 years into their craft,” Nickal added.

Nickal also pointed out that any fighter ranked between tenth and fifteenth poses an interesting matchup. Despite his confidence, he acknowledged that the UFC is likely to continue building up both fighters as undefeated prospects. “There’s nobody in the UFC that isn’t good,” he said, recognizing the high level of competition in the middleweight division.

While Bo Nickal is interested in facing ranked opponents next, he remains grounded and aware of his limited experience compared to many upcoming opponents. “I’ve been fighting MMA professionally for just over two years,” he shared. “I started in late summer 2022 and now I’m featured at Madison Square Garden by the end of 2024.” Nickal is confident in his work ethic and dedication to film study and developing his fight IQ, believing these will give him an edge over others.

Bo Nickal Reveals The Fighters He Actually Wants to Face

Nickal has expressed his desire to face top-tier fighters like Khamzat Chimaev, despite most middleweights avoiding calling out the formidable opponent. “My goal has always been to be UFC champion, pound-for-pound No.1 fighter in the world,” he stated. “When I call out guys like Khamzat, that’s because I think that he’s really good and I want to fight the best guys.”
