The BOOM MMA Indian Premier Fighting League fight card which is scheduled to take place on January 12, 2019, has a new main event.

BOOM Bantamweight champion Ateet Kelvin Gupta, who was initially set to main event the fight card has been forced to pull out due to an injury. Kushal Vyas will be now headlining the event and will fight Afghanistan’s Baryalai Faizi.
BOOM MMA chief Ratul Mukherjee gave an exclusive statement on the change and noted that Kushal is a perfect replacement for Ateet.
“Ateet had a bad ankle while he was practicing in Kolkata and after he went of Bangalore he was not ready yet to come back so we have to opt Khusal. From a long time I and Kushal both were interested in working together but last time, we came too close in Wardog which didn’t happened. So this Kushal is in in the main event because he is having the knowledge, experience to handle the Afghanistan Fighter Baryalai Faizi. Baryalai have a great KO power so Kushal is the best man to take him on and give him the hard fight,” he said.
Kushal will be heading into the fight card on the back of a huge win that he secured against Pawanprasad Semwal at K1 League. He will also be fighting on the Brave CF 20 Fight card which is scheduled to happen on 22 December, 2018 in Hyderabad. Kushal will be facing Angad Bisht at the event.
As for Ateet, the injury is a big setback for him as he was looking for a huge return to BOOM after his run in the Super Fight League.
BOOM MMA Indian Premier Fighting League is currently scheduled to take place on January 12, 2019 at The Stadel, Kolkata.
