Top Rank boss Bob Arum has asserted that Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Manny Pacquiao could take place later this year.
Apparently, Pacquiao is set to return in a couple of months against an opponent yet to be announced. Besides, further details on ‘Loma’ vs. ‘Pacman’ have also been revealed.
Manny Pacquiao’s last outing inside the ring was a controversial decision loss to Jeff Horn—a bout in which Pacman seemed to be clearly ahead on points, only for the judges to score the fight in favor of hometown hero Horn.
On the other hand, Vasyl Lomachenko’s last outing was a one-sided beat-down of pound-for-pound great Guillermo Rigondeaux.
Top Rank who’re hell-bent on booking a bout between Lomachenko and Pacquiao, have previously alluded to a potential showdown between the duo.
In hot pursuit of the same, Top Rank head honcho Bob Arum has now asserted that should Pacquiao win his next fight that takes place in April, he’ll likely face Lomachenko this November.

Addressing a Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Manny Pacquiao matchup, Arum stated—
“It will be on the same night Jeff Horn and Terence Crawford will fight for the (world welterweight title),” said Arum at the American Bank Center…We’re just waiting and we will do the announcement once Manny’s on board.”
“Lomachenko’s next fight will be at 135 lbs and he and Manny will meet at 140 (later in the year).”
Furthermore, one ought to note that Lomachenko’s camp isn’t all too interested in fighting Pacquiao at this stage of the veteran’s career; alluding that Pacman is now past his prime and Lomachenko beating him doesn’t carry as much significance in 2018.
On the other hand, the Pacquiao camp has insinuated that he’s still interested in continuing his career in the hurt business, and will compete a couple of times this year.
