Floyd Mayweather’s entourage was ambushed outside the upmarket hotel in the early hours of Monday morning after coming back from a nearby club. Atlanta police say a bodyguard for Floyd Mayweather was shot in front of an upscale hotel in Buckhead.
Police Investigators said,”Three vehicles returning to their hotel from a club on Buford Highway when another vehicle pulled up beside them and fired several times. One of the people in the vehicles was hit in the leg. He was later taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where he is expected to be OK. Police said the boxer “may have been in one of the other vehicles in the caravan and was not injured.”
Mayweather’s motorcade pulled away from the hotel after shots were fired.
The attackers followed them for a short while but the three-car convoy managed to escape before heading to a nearby hospital.
It was unclear whether the shooting was targeted specifically at Floyd Mayweather but police believe the attack was deliberate.
Atlanta Police tell me the shooting victim was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital. No word on the shooter.
