Luana Pinheiro Defeated Helen “Hellraiser” Harper via KO in Round 1

Kick starting the main event is the first ever women’s MMA fight in Bahrain, marking a pivotal milestone in the country’s mixed martial arts scene. Numerous female fighter’s have graced the Brave CF cage in international locations, but strawweights Luana Pinheiro from Brazil and Helen “Hellraiser” Harper from England became the first ones to compete in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Luana made the most of this opportunity as she knocked out Harper at 3:00 of the very first round.

As the first round began, Luana quickly took to the center of the cage and began pressurizing Harper. Both the straw weights were hesitant to engage and were clearly waiting for an opening to counter attack. Luana using her range and footwork forced Harper to retreat towards the cage, who for the most of the time didn’t commit to any of her attempted leg kicks. A short led to a clinch and within seconds Luana dropped Harper with a perfectly timed judo throw. With Luana on her top, Harper struggled to over throw her but still managed to evade the rear naked submission attempt. Luana was unable to hold Harper on the mat and soon found herself on the feet ready to exchange leather. Keeping her clinch intact, Luana unleashed a knee followed by a three piece hook combo that left Harper dropping face first on the canvas.

With this win, Luana is now 2-0 in Brave CF and improved her mma record to 7-1 and riding a five fight win streak.

Guram Kutateladze defeated Felipe Silva via KO in Round 1

The lightweight bout between Georgia’s Guram Kutateladze and Brazil’s Felipe Silva was a firecracker in the making from the day it was announced. As the first round began, both fighters came out guns blazing. Felipe Silva drew the first blood as he landed a big right that rocked Guram Kutateladze. With his opponent now backing away looking to survive, Guram got a bit reckless and got caught on the button with a perfectly timed counter left. As Felipe dropped on the canvas, Guram  followed up with ground-and-pound, knocking the senses out in just 44 seconds. With this win, Guram bagged his second BCF win via TKO and extended his win streak to 8.

Luan Santiago defeated Gadzhimusa Gaziev via Split Decision

The former BRAVE CF Lightweight world champion Luan Santiago moved up to Super Lightweight to face Gadzhimusa Gaziev after his submission loss to Cleiton Pereira da Silva back in August. This time Santiago showcased his best performance yet as he stayed composed and relaxed during the entire fight against the Russian knockout artist.

Santiago brought a complete arsenal of kicks with his renewed game as he switched between stances to give Gaziev a tough time. Having taken enough of kicks, Gaziev was all about countering Santiago. It was a back and forth contest as both the fighters edged one another with their crisp striking. Santiago relied on his traditional fight stance and threw some nasty head shots while Gaziev countered them with big over hand rights. As the rounds progressed,  Santiago began figuring out his timing and range, landed more clean punches resulting in Gaziev bleeding from his face. With little success on the feet, Gaziev shot for a takedown in the final round, but Santiago stuffed it with ease. In the end, the judges scored the fight in favour of Santiago with a split decision.

Dumar Roa defeated Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady via Knockout in Round 1

Former Lightweight world champion Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady clashed with Dumar Roa from Colombia in a feature featherweight bout. For Al-Selwady, it was not his night as he was brutally knocked out in a high-octane first round war. Dumar and Al-Selwady both suffered losses in their previous fights and had to get back to win column. Al-Selwady set the tone of the fight with his aggressive forward movement forcing Dumar to back peddle. Al-Selwady was finding success with most of his shots despite falling short in his range but Dumar retaliated with his own combinations that got his attention. Dumar’s height advantage led him to keep Al-Selwady at bay and he was soon able to time his punches. In a wild exchange, Dumar landed a leg kick that happened to connect to Al-Selwady’s chin with his knee sending the former champion crashing to the canvas at 2:29 secs of round 1. Dumar earned the biggest win of his professional MMA career and his first in Brave CF.

Hamza Kooheji defeated Nahuel Gandolfi via TKO in Round 1

In the co-main event, the pride of Bahrain Hamza Kooheji put on a dominant performance against Nahuel Gandolfi who was no match for him in stand up and on the ground. With his home crowd support behind him, Hamza was relentless in his pursuit to finish the fight early. He landed a big head kick early in the opening round, but Gandolfi ate it like it was nothing. Once he got Gandolfi pinned to the cage, he took him down and put him there until the round ended. Gandolfi just managed to survive but in the process ate a lot of punches from the top.

Gandolfi tried to shift the momentum in the second round with his own take down, but with this excellent wrestling Hamza was able to fend off any attempts. Once Hamza had the top position, he just continued to hammer Gandolfi and land elbows. Gandolfi’s attempts to submit Hamza from the bottom were met with more punches. In the final round, Hamza got hold of the crucifix and rained down elbows until the referee stepped in to stop the fight at 1:44 secs of round 3.
