UFC president Dana White has just dropped two massive lightweight fights for the highly anticipated UFC 300 event, set to take place on 13th April at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Back in December last week, when the first three fights were announced for UFC 300, fans opined and slammed White for the lack of seeing big names in the fight card. However, the UFC prez has dropped a bombshell with two huge fights for the upcoming centennial event.

The announcement was made by White in the late hours of Sunday through a video he shared on X.

The co-main event of the fight card will be a five round contest between Dustin Poirier and Benoit Saint Denis.

Poirier, a former interim champion and two time title contender, is currently ranked third in the division and is coming off a loss against Justin Gaethje at UFC 291 back in July, which was for the symbolic “BMF” title.

The 12th ranked lightweight in the promotion, Saint Denis is entering 2024 with a stellar 3-0 record in the past year, having registered wins over Ismael Bonfim, Thiago Moisés and Matt Frevola.

Charles Oliveira title eliminator fight against Arman Tsarukyan

UFC 300 will also mark the return of former 155-pound champ Charles Oliveira, who is set to lock horns against rising lightweight star Arman Tsarukyan on the undercard of the event, which will be treated as a title eliminator.

Currently the no. 1 lightweight in the UFC, “Do Bronx” ended 2023 with a definitive 1st round knockout win over Beneil Dariush at UFC 289 back in June, extending his record of most finishes at the UFC to 20.

Tsarukyan, ranked 4th among the 155-pounders, is currently on a three fight win streak. After defeating Damir Ismagulov in 2022, the Armenian-Russian marked two more wins last year, against Joaquim Silva and Beneil Dariush.

Current UFC 300 lineup

With the addition of the Poirier vs. Saint Denis and Oliveira vs. Tsarukyan lightweight contests, the current lineup of UFC 300 looks something like this:

  • Light Heavyweight Bout: Jiri Prochazka vs. Aleksandar Rakić
  • Featherweight Bout: Calvin Kattar vs. Aljamain Sterling
  • Middleweight Bout: Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage
  • Lightweight Bout: Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan
  • Lightweight Bout: Dustin Poirier vs. Benoit Saint Denis
