While his spoils haven’t been working perfectly at middleweight, Luke Rockhold has been talking a lot lately about moving up to 205 pounds. And in doing so he wishes to achieve what his long time training partner Daniel Cormier has failed in doing twice, beating Jon Jones.
After Jones’ dominant performance over Alexander Gustaffson, Rockhold commented that Jones looked very much beatable and showed his intent towards fighting him. While Rockhold has always been a big middleweight, stepping in the Octagon with Jones will be anything but a walk in the park for him.
However there are experts who actually give Rockhold a bigger chance of winning than expected. In his year ending podcast Below The Belt, Brendan Schaub, on account of the shallowness of the light heavyweight division, actually gave Rockhold the best chance among active fighters to go toe-to-toe with Bones.
