Brian Ortega will no longer be a part of UFC 226 due to no replacement being made for him after Max Holloway pulled out from UFC 226.
The news came hours after featherweight champ Max Holloway pulled from the fight due to concussion like symptoms. Ortega’s scratching from the card was confirmed by MMA JUNKIE after being initially reported by Brazilian news outlet Combate.

There have been preliminary reports from Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times that rescheduling the fight for UFC 227 on Aug. 4 in Los Angeles has been discussed. Holloway’s team did not provide a response to MMAjunkie when asked about that possibility.
Brian Ortega did issue a response to the unfortunate situation.
