On account of his bout at UFC 235, an old video of him resurfaced on Twitter dating back to 2007. The video shows a young, probably 24 years old at the time, Woodley, brutally knocking out Willie Dale at Genesis 3 back in 2007. The bout didn’t even feature in Woodley’s MMA record, as it was an amateur bout. However it highlights the fact that Woodley always possessed some brutal power. (via Twitter):

Woodley, being a two-time All-American, has always been known for his wrestling prowess. Woodley however can be seen throwing a typical overhand right which is used by many wrestlers to, absolutely floor Dale. Woodley used a similar punch to knock out a dangerous Robbie Lawler to become the UFC welterweight champ. Woodley also used the technique to brutally knockout veteran Josh Koscheck.

Woodley will be facing another wrestler in Kamaru Usman hence striking might as well prove pivotal on who gets the nod at UFC 235. Woodley will have to hand Usman the first loss of his UFC career. Woodley will look to showcase similar power against Usman at UFC 235.
