After not materializing due to conflicts of interest such as the main event of UFC Vegas 64, the long-awaited fight between undefeated featherweights Bryce Mitchell (15-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) and Ilia Topuria (12-0 MMA, 4-0 UFC) now has a new date.
According to the latest report from David Van Auken of Fight Bananas, the two will meet as part of a stacked fight card at UFC 282 taking place on the 10th of December at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The date was later confirmed by Mitchell on Twitter.

Mitchell became known in the MMA scene for being the former V3 Fights Featherweight Champion and made his way into the top promotion through season 27 of The Ultimate Fighter. In his tenure in the Octagon, “Thug Nasty” won all six of his fights.
In his last outing, the 9th-ranked featherweight Mitchell defeated Edson Barboza via unanimous decision at UFC 272. Prior to that fight, he dominated Andre Fili at UFC Vegas 12. Known for his strong grappling, the undefeated 28-year-old has marked 9 wins via submission so far.
Topuria, likewise, will also seek to extend his undefeated record in MMA. The Georgian has won all 12 of his fights, with 4 wins inside the octagon. In his last fight, “El Matador” knocked out Jai Herbert on the first UFC London event this year. A win over Mitchell is expected to give the 14th-ranked featherweight a huge boost in ranking.
The heavily stacked fight card of UFC 282 will be headlined by the much-awaited rematch between UFC Light Heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira. Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev will also lock horns at the event, and a lightweight bout between Paddy Pimblett and Jared Gordon was also recently added to the undercard.
