Ahead of the highly anticipated UFC 305 middleweight title fight between Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya, the two fighters engaged in an intense press conference. Some combat sports fans labeled the face-off as one the longest ones in UFC history.

Dricus Du Plessis stated this while talking about the face-off incident, “He’s trying to convince himself that he still wants to be here. I’m just here to let him know that it’s okay, it’s over. Call it a day. Call it a career. He’s shorter than I thought, So that makes it worse for him because I’m a thick boy… That’s the feeling we do this for, getting that excitement. That’s exactly what he’s lacking. He’s lost that hunger for the game.”

The feud between them dates back to when Adesanya held the middleweight title, but now the roles have reversed.

Despite no longer being the champion, Adesanya still feels the target on his back due to the legacy he has built in the sport. He emphasized his active fight schedule, having competed in five fights within 18 months. Adesanya’s break allowed him to recharge, and he’s eager to face Du Plessis after almost a year away from the octagon.

During the press conference, the war of words escalated, leading to an intense face-off between the two fighters. Both Du Plessis and Adesanya exchanged words, setting the stage for their upcoming clash.

The tension between Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya promises an electrifying fight at UFC 305. The hunger for victory and the desire to prove themselves will undoubtedly fuel their battle inside the cage.
