One of UFC’s women’s MMA veteran Cat Zingano was recently released by the UFC. The decision to let Zingano go and release her from her contract did shock a lot of fans, but it should be noted that Zingano had been on a downhill and had a record of 1-4 in her last five fights. Zingano has now finally commented on her release.
Zingano revealed that her release from the UFC was mutual as she wanted to focus on a very important project and not on the UFC for the moment. She also went on to clarify that she is not retiring from fighting and will eventually make her return. Here’s what she had to say:
I didn’t want to take the ultimatum this time, So I guess you can say it was mutual. I had a project that was very, very important to me, and to the MMA community and fans, and I needed to put me, my son, my training and that first before I had anything to give to the UFC. Still, Cat made it clear that her fighting days are from from over. It’s shitty timing, but it happens, and I’m still a fighter and ready to fuck shit up.
