Chael Sonnen was hit with five battery citations after he fought in a Las Vegas Hotel

Former UFC fighter Chael Sonnen has been detained from a hotel in Las Vegas after he was found in an altercation with a couple. According to the latest reports, Chael Sonnen was charged with 5 battery citations after allegedly getting in a brawl at a luxury hotel in Las Vegas. TMZ also has a video of police carrying out Chael Sonnen who was in handcuffs but the reports have revealed that he has not been officially arrested by the police. Law enforcement sources informed that Chael was detained and not arrested because the cops didn’t personally witness the alleged incident.

The information regarding the incident is not out yet, but TMZ is behind the case and is revealing information at regular intervals. Paramedics were also been called to the hotel, but no injuries have been reported as per TMZ. A witness has revealed some important information surrounding the incident. According to the witness, Chael Sonnen was banging a hotel room door and was furious. Chael was then confronted by a couple walking by and they got into a fight with Sonnen. Chael Sonnen who is one of the all-time best fighters didn’t have to work hard to beat up the guy. The woman with the guy started to scream and alerted the people around from which someone called the police.

Chael Sonnen is often regarded as one of the greatest trash-talkers in MMA history. In 2014, Sonnen began working as an MMA analyst for ESPN. In July 2016, he founded Submission Underground, his submission wrestling promotion. Sonnen was an active competitor in the UFC’s middleweight and light-heavyweight division. He has challenged for the undisputed title thrice in his UFC career. He fought Anderson Silva twice for the UFC middleweight championship. He has also fought Jon Jones for the UFC Light-heavyweight. Though he lost all these tile fights he is still one of the best fighters in the MMA world.

Chael Sonnen made his UFC debut in the Light Heavyweight division against former IFC Light Heavyweight Champion Renato Sobral at UFC 55, submitting to a second-round triangle choke. In his last UFC fight he fought, Rashad Evans on November 16, 2013, at UFC 167. He lost the fight via TKO in the first round. He then signed up with Bellator after separating from the UFC.

Chael Sonnen faced Lyoto Machida on June 14, 2019, at Bellator 222 at Madison Square Garden. He lost the fight via TKO in the second round. After the fight, Sonnen announced his retirement from MMA in the post-fight interview.
